זהות דהויה | هوية فاهية | Faded identity

 

 
אִמְרָה כבושה | (مَنْ يترجم هٰذَا؟) | Subdued fringe

The Hebrew word for flounce (the edge/decoration of a fabric)
also means "say" and the word for "conquer" also means "held back".
(My Arabic speaking friends could not find a poetic translation for this one)

 I changed Jerusalem mix (meaning "mixed grill", locally)
into Israeli mix - aiming at the Arabs and the Jews
 copying each other's styles and customs,
 usually in distaste or misunderstanding, at best.



Chickens' hearts barbeque, a common denominator,

אופיר שהשאיל לי את הלוויתן
ג'וק שבנה את קערת "בראשית" ויודע אחרית
בּוּבּי המעודד לאורך שנים
חברי הידית שפותחים לי דלתות
כל אלו שלא הוזכרו (217) רק בכדי שלא תשתעממו ישר על ההתחלה.
