תערוכה ב"הידית" - 2007 | Exhibition at Hayadit

חגי האביב מתפרצים אלינו,
זמן טוב לבהייה בענייני חרות.
לא נסעתי לבהייה, אך הצגתי
בפרדס חנה מהגיגַי בגין החופש
והריהם ערוכים לפניכם
בברכת חגים שמחים
 كل عام ونحن بخيــــــــر

The spring holidays
provide a good reason
to show you around my exhibition
dealing with some aspects
 of personal/global freedom

בתערוכתו הקהל מתבקש לשנות את גורלו
כפי שהוצגה בתיאטרון הידית, פרדס חנה
رافي مينتس "الرجاء، حسنوا مصيركم"
كما عرض في دَار التَّمْثِيل "هاياديت"، فردس حنا.

אזור הכניסה ~ الدخول ~ The outside

כותל הבקשות ~ Wish-wall
At various "holy sites" people hang regular polythene shopping bags for luck
Here, the public is animated to hang theirs, with their wishes and dreams
בקשות מיוחדות תתקבלנה כל יום
עד שקיעת החמה
הקהל מתבקש
להשתמש אך ורק
בּשׂקיות נְקִיּוֹת
ולקשור אותן חזק
Special requests will be accepted daily
until sunset. The public is requested
to use clean bags only and to tie them tight.

מזל וחיים זוג נאה ~ Luck and life, an immortal couple
Rusty undulated tin plates symbolize poor neighborhoods, in serious need for luck

Careful, Green border
(The symbol of not crossing into the areas occupied by Israel)

המבואה ~ The foyer

בריכת הלווייתנים מקדמת בברכה את בואכם ~ The whale pond welcomes you to the show



 

"תבורך נעלך" -  במספר תרבויות מעוטרות מראות בנקודות לבנות, נגד עין הרע -
בזו נוסף כיתוב ב"כאילו יידיש" האומר בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ומתבסס על משחק הלשון
בין המילה "שעה" הדומה בהגייתה באידיש למילה shoe - נעל, באנגלית.
Mirrors are decorated with white specks, in some cultures - against bad eye
Here the caption blesses the visitor's shoe, playing with the sound of
lucky hour in the Yiddish language, resembling the sound of lucky shoe

במעבר מהמבואה לפינה הדרום מערבית ~ الى زَاوِيَة الجنوب الغربي
From the foyer to the southwest corner

עולם שוקק ~ Southwest corner facing a Wonderful World
The background of the theatre wardrobe demonstrates the ambiguity of
colorful clothing that can also hint towards shallowness and poverty

 תכשיט אופטימי לצווארו של האמן ~ The artist wearing optimistic jewellery
התליון נושא את הכתובת  رُبَّمَا ننسى ونغفر؟ | אולי נשכח ונסלח קצת?
The amulet says: Let us forget and forgive a little
