The Hebrew word for flounce (the edge/decoration of a fabric)
also means "say" and the word for "conquer" also means "held back".
(My linguistically gifted Arabic friends could not find a poetic translation for this one)

One of Hanukah's songs (the holiday of light) includes this line

My enWHYronment

I changed Jerusalem mix (meaning "mixed grill", locally)
into Israeli mix - aiming at the Arabs and the Jews
copying each other's styles and customs,
usually in distaste or misunderstanding, at best.

Chickens' hearts barbeque, a common denominator,
serving to bring hearts closer...
