Two posters advertising the exhibition
Mother tongue
A symbolic figure of a woman, holding an actual hard disk of a computer.
Her breasts are silicon baby bottle nipples and her "hair" is of synthetic
fiber.
Mother tongue stands for the message: Our modern life style relies more and
more on high tech. The hard disk is "the core of it all".
The most natural connection of a mother to her child and therefore to all
humanity,
is rapidly substituted by synthetic milk, fed to the newborn through plastic
bottles
and artificial nipples.
Computers and other electronic media become the educators of our future
generation.
Warm touch and spoken words are quite a scarce comodity.
