Seam (battle) Line – Co-production by Yael Lev (video) & Rafi Münz (painting) – the invitation
May through July 2017 in the Peace Gallery, Givat- Haviva, Israel, not in honor of 50 years of the Israeli occupation
Is our outcry towards the ruling forces of Israel, who repeatedly humiliate and trample the lives of the people in the occupied territories. The video, filmed in the West Bank, initiated new drawings/paintings added to the ones on the wall. Hints (too subtle?) mocking some of the very “sacred cows” starring in our repertory, are amalgamated in the saga, not in honor of 50 years of occupation.

(ח'לילה)
צלילה הדומה לעברית של שמה של חברון בערבית (ח'ליל) מבטא את חששותינו והגיגינו,
שלא לכבוד 50 שנות הכיבוש. באיפוק, עד כמה שהנושא מאפשר, אנו מרמזים
לכיוון השימוש הציני שעושה העם היהודי בסיסמה "אור לגויים". ברקע המיצב
מוקרן סרטון
שצולם בשטחים הכבושים.
הסרטון שימש השראה לתוספת ספונטאנית, להשלמת הציורים על הקיר. בין השיטין מככבים סמלים השמים ללעג גם את
עשרת הדברות ושאר קרדומים קדושים המשמשים אותנו השכם והערב.

"خمسين":
"حليله"، الكلمة العبرية (ومعناها لا سمح الله) التي تشبه بلفظها الاسم العربي
لمدينة الخليل تعبر عن قلقنا وتأملاتنا بخصوص
50 سنة من الاحتلال. مع ضبط النفس
قدر الإمكان، نرمز هنا إلى مفارقة الاستخدام الساخر التي يمارسها الشعب اليهودي
بشعار "نورًا للأمم". في خلفية المنشأ يعرض فيلم فيديو جرى تصويره في الأراضي
المحتلة، والذي شكل الهاما لإضافة عفوية تستكمل الرسومات على الحائط. بين
السطور تلمع الرموز التي تسخير من الوصايا العشر وغيرها من الفؤوس المقدسة التي
نستخدمها صبح مساء.
